CAIR-NY Condemns Anti-Semitic Vandalism

(NEW YORK, NY, 01/14/2020) — The New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY), a leading Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned anti-Semitic vandalism targeting a Jewish driver in Queens, N.Y.

The alleged bias incident was reported to the NYPD on Sunday, January 12 at 9:30 p.m. regarding a vehicle in Queens which was broken into and vandalized. The vandals allegedly drew a swastika, an offensive cartoon, and wrote foul language on the seats. 

Both the NYPD and State Police are investigating the incident as a hate crime.

In a statement, CAIR-NY Litigation Director Ahmed Mohamed said: 

“Anti-Semitism and hatred of any form is despicable. It is disturbing that someone would break into a vehicle to spout such hateful messages. We continue to stand in solidarity with our Jewish neighbors in the face of growing bigotry.”
