Saira Zafar

Paralegal

Saira Zafar currently serves as a paralegal for CAIR-NY’s legal department. Before joining CAIR-NY, Saira earned her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from St. John’s University. She has extensive experience interning with numerous elected official’s offices, providing constituent services, and fostering community outreach events. Additionally, she has had exposure in providing legal support for city and federal criminal court cases. As a native Queens resident, she is incredibly passionate about improving the quality-of-life conditions for fellow New Yorkers and underserved communities. Through working with CAIR-NY, she hopes to continue to protect and uphold the civil liberties of Muslims across the state. Fun fact: Saira is a black belt in taekwondo, and her go-to drink of choice is an iced matcha latte!
