CAIR-NY Condemns Anti-Jewish Flyers Found Outside Nassau County Homes

(NEW YORK, NY, 8/15/2022)—The New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY), nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned a series of anti-Jewish flyers that were found on the doorsteps and front yards of homes in Freeport, Long Island on Sunday.
According to police, the flyers bore headlines such as “Every Single Aspect of Gun Control is Jewish” and “Let’s Go Brandon,” which is a code that a growing number on the extreme right use as a euphemistic substitute for “F*ck Joe Biden.”
The flyers also featured photos of prominent Jewish political figures with Stars of David scrawled on their foreheads, or the Israeli flag displayed next to their photos, recalling an ugly, anti-Jewish stereotype advanced by many right-wing conspiracy theorists who claim that Jews have undue influence in politics and are taking control of America.
The flyers were allegedly created and distributed by the Goyim Defense League. Nassau county police are aware of the group and are investigating the incident.

Afaf Nasher, Executive Director of CAIR-NY, said in a statement:
“This increased presence of Nazi-inspired, racial supremacist propaganda at our doorsteps is a chilling reminder that we are facing brazen extremists’ intent of fueling hate in our neighborhoods. CAIR-NY condemns these anti-Jewish flyers and re-affirms our solidarity to our Jewish brothers and sisters.”
She added that CAIR-NY and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging racial supremacy, religious bigotry, xenophobia, and all other forms of hatred.
