CAIR-NY Welcomes Arrest of Suspects Who Allegedly Targeted NYC Jewish Communities
(NEW YORK, NY, 11/21/2022)—The New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY) today welcomed the arrest of two individuals who allegedly targeted Jewish communities.
According to police, two individuals were arrested in connection to an alleged threat against the local Jewish community and planning to attack a New York City synagogue. The individuals were captured by MTA PD who reportedly seized a large hunting knife, an illegal Glock 17 firearm and 30-round magazine, and several other items.

Afaf Nasher, Executive Director of CAIR-NY, said in a statement:
“We condemn the alarming rise of hatred and violence directed at our Jewish brothers and sisters and their houses of worship. It is appalling and unacceptable."
“CAIR-NY stands with the Jewish community in its continued fight against antisemitic bigotry.”
