AIR-NY Condemns Distribution of White Supremacist Manifesto on University Campus
(NEW YORK, NY, 11/20/19) — The New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY), a chapter of the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned dissemination of a white supremacist manifesto at the Syracuse University library.
On Tuesday, the manifesto was posted online and “airdropped” to several cellphones. The 74-page document written by the perpetrator of the March Christchurch mosque shootings includes neo-Nazi symbols and anti-immigrant sentiments.

This incident came as the college investigates a series of recent racist episodes. There have been 11 reported hate crimes around the university since Nov. 7. These incidents have targeted African-American, Asian and Jewish people, and have sparked #NotAgainSU protesters to conduct a sit-in with a list of demands for the university.
In a statement, CAIR-NY Executive Director Afaf Nasher said:
“We condemn this reprehensible use of fear-mongering by employing the hate manifesto of the New Zealand mosque shooter to target students on campus, as well as the series of hate crimes targeting various communities. We also support the efforts of the students rejecting this hatred and demanding accountability. All students must be provided a safe learning environment free of hate or intimidation.”
