CAIR-NY, Muslim Community Leaders to Gather for Oscar Morel Double Murder Trial, Release 2017 Hate Crimes Stats

(NEW YORK, NY, 3/2/18) -- On Monday, March 5, the New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY) and other Muslim community leaders will hold a news conference ahead of opening statements in the Oscar Morel double murder trial.
Morel faces first degree murder charges in the 2016 deaths of Imam Maulana Ala’Uddin Akonjee and Thara Uddin. CAIR-NY serves as civil counsel and media representative for the Akonjee and Uddin families.
