CAIR-NY Applauds Mayor de Blasio’s Statement on Welcoming Refugees
(NEW YORK, N.Y., 11/18/15) - The New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY) today applauded Mayor de Blasio’s statement on welcoming refugees.

CAIR-NY, along with partner organizations, sent a letter to Mayor Bill de Blasio thanking him for his stance.

CAIR-NY Director of Operations Sadyia Khalique said in a statement:
“With some elected officials rejecting refugees, it is commendable that our mayor stands firm on American values. New York City is a historical center for immigration. The refugee crisis is a humanitarian issue not a religious issue.”
