At this tenuous moment, when so many of us are recovering from the shock of Tuesday’s election, we wish to express our sincerest gratitude for the outpouring of support for the Muslim American community.  Words cannot fully capture what your calls and emails have meant to us.  Your assistance will be indispensable in the days and months ahead, but for right now, your solidarity gives us the strength to carry on with our mission: protecting and defending the rights of Muslim New Yorkers.

Our community is resilient. With each new challenge we find the determination and diligence to carry on.  We are disappointed by the Election’s outcome, but CAIR-NY remains committed to fighting injustice and working towards a better, more inclusive society. No matter who is president, we will still fight injustice in our streets and our schools. We will fight discrimination in our workplaces and accommodations. And yes, we will fight systemic injustice at every level of government.

Elections come and go, but CAIR-NY will always defend the civil liberties guaranteed to every New Yorker.
