Speakers & Awardee

Leqaa Kordia is a Palestinian Muslim woman who grew up under Israeli military occupation in the West Bank and has lost many family members to the ongoing genocide in Palestine. Imprisoned by ICE for 368 days for protesting it, she suffered her first-ever seizure in custody, and is now out on bond with her deportation case ongoing.

Dr. Ayman Hammous holds a doctorate degree in Physical therapy from Stoney Brook University and is the current Executive Director of MAS National. He resides in Dallas, TX with his wife and three children, and joins us to speak on what it means to stand together as one community.

A lifelong advocate for peace and social justice, Medea Benjamin has spent 50 years fighting for human rights. A Nobel Peace Prize nominee and author of 11 books, she is one of America’s leading voices for peace. We are honored to recognize her decades of courageous advocacy as a CAIR-NY Gala awardee.

Is there a dress code?

Yes, the event is black tie.

Can I request a vegan meal?

Will photos be taken at the gala?

Yes. Our photographers document the evening, so by attending you consent to having your photo taken for CAIR-NY purposes.
